Those away from home or outside the state are concerned about the availability of the Systematic Initiative for Revision (SIR) forms online.

The SIR enumeration form has been available online since Friday evening. Unlike the offline process, the online SIR system is entirely managed by the Election Commission of India (ECI), with no involvement from the CEO of the West Bengal office.

Electors will not need to download a form. They will click a dedicated link on the ECI/CEO West Bengal website or the ECINET app and fill in the details directly.

“The online links is accessible from last night. Online filling up of enumeration form has been enabled,” said Bengal’s electoral officials. The site is already live. The window for filling enumeration forms online will be found on the new domain of the state’s chief electoral officer’s portal, https://ceowestbengal.wb.gov.in/ as well as on the commission’s app, ECINET.

The online filling out of the enumeration form is easily accessible to users. To initiate the process, citizens simply need to navigate to the “Services” section of the portal and select the clearly marked “Fill Enumeration Form” option to complete the necessary documentation for the electoral roll revision online.

The portal is divided into two main columns or sections: Forms and Services.

Forms section: registration and updation
This column lists all the statutory forms a citizen needs to fill out for voter registration, deletion, or correction. Each box corresponds to a specific service:

Specifically, to fill the Enumeration Form for the ongoing SIR 2026, the user must go to the SERVICES column and click on the green button labelled “Fill Enumeration Form.”

Sources suggest the ECI is considering introducing Aadhaar-based authentication for online SIR submission (a feature not used during the SIR in Bihar). Before submission, the system will prompt for authentication.

An OTP will be sent to the mobile number linked to the elector’s Aadhaar. The form is submitted after the elector enters this OTP. Post-submission electors will still have the option to download and print a copy of the completed form. The online SIR launch in Bihar also occurred a few days after the offline exercise had started.
