At BJP’s pro-SIR rally, Suvendu calls TMC padyatra ‘jamaati’, assures Matuas :‘you are Hindus, so safe ’

Thousands of BJP supporters along with party workers marched with him, shouting slogans in support of the SIR.

They were seen holding banners and placards with slogans like “ No SIR, No Vote”, “Detect, Delete, Deport” along the 2.8 km-rally route.

Stating that “Matuas are Hindus” and “they are safe”, Adhikari said, “The Matuas are Hindus and they are safe… the Prime Minister has secured them by bringing in the CAA ( Citizenship Amendment Act)… the CM is misleading them. The Matuas had left Bangladesh to save their religion”.

“This rally is for Indians. Why are they (TMC) scared? They tried to stop my rally. In her (Mamata Banerjee) rally, it is jamaatis who are walking. In my rally, true Indians are walking. We want to weed out the Bangladeshi Rohingya Muslims from the country and the voter list,” said Adhikari, referring to the state government moving the Calcutta High Court against the permission granted to the BJP leader to hold the rally.

“The CM is also doing a rally today…  it is an unauthorised and unconstitutional programme… an attack against the Constitution. The people of Bengal are watching this (TMC’s) rally … (it) is to protect the infiltrators, specially Bangladeshi Rohingyas. This is not a political meeting but a rally of the jamaat,” he said.

Calling the Election Commission an “autonomous body”,  he said that they have the responsibility to make the voter list and carry out voting. Hitting out at the TMC over the infiltration issue, he said: “This government did not give land to the Centre. They (TMC ) say that it is the responsibility of the Central government when it comes to infiltration… but then they should give the land. Bengal shares a 2200-km border with Bangladesh. The Central government has given money to buy the land so that fencing of the border can be done… they did not give the land, they are doing ‘land jihad’ and ‘love jihad’ here… they come here, marry an innocent girl, have children and then leave her to marry again”.

“In many Bengal villages, there are no Hindus living there, you can’t hear the dhak or the bells chiming in the temples. SIR is the carbolic acid that EC has poured in the snake pits and the snakes are coming out saying they do not want SIR,” said the BJP leader. “She had screamed on 21 July that she wouldn’t allow SIR to be implemented… What happened Mamata Banerjee? SIR has started and the forms will come back… Where will you and your Muslims and Rohingyas go ? I challenge them… if they have the guts, let them stop the SIR. The Constitution is the last word,” he said.

“The main reason for suicides here in Bengal is unemployment. No Indian should be scared of SIR, be it Hindu or Muslim, the TMC is just misleading the Hindus to give protection to the illegal Rohingya Muslims from Bangladesh. The name of infiltrators and fake voters will not stay in the list,” the BJP leader said.
