Arabul again,this time accused of beating up his own partymen

Podder is block panchayat samity member and Ali is South 24 Parganas zila parishad member. Islam and his men have also been accused of damaging the furniture of local party office.

The assaulted TMC men said they would give a written complaint against Islam. “He and his men beat us up without any instigation. The party office was also damaged by them. We are going to write against this barbaric behaviour to our leaders,” said Podder.

Islam,however,denied the charges.

“These people were using printed receipt book of the party to collect funds from local factories,something which we have been strictly asked to refrain from. When I went to tell them that they should stop such activities,they were abusive. It was a conversation between us and no one resorted to any sort of violence,” he said.

Asked about damaging the party office,he said,“We have put it up ourselves. Why should we break things inside it?”
