Oppn weaponised 400-paar slogan… there were mistakes in ticket distribution: Rajasthan minister on BJP’s below par show
In the results declared on June 4, BJP won 14 seats out of 25 seats in the state, while Congress won 8 and its allies won 3

Rajasthan Minister Jhabar Singh Kharra on Thursday attributed the party’s below par performance in Lok Sabha elections in Rajasthan to a host of factors, including “farmers agitation and mistakes in ticket distribution.”
Talking to media persons at the party office in Jaipur, Kharra, who is a minister of state (independent charge), said, “We could not dispel the misconceptions spread by the opposition regarding the 400-paar slogan. There was impact of farmers’ agitation, there were mistakes in ticket distribution, there were lots of things which had an impact.”
Asked if the reasons included sidelining of leaders like former Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje, he said that everything was covered when he said ‘lots of things’.
In the results declared on June 4, BJP won 14 seats out of 25 seats in Rajasthan, while Congress won 8 and its allies won 3. In the last two elections, BJP and NDA had won all 25 seats, respectively.
“We will introspect and correct whatever shortcomings we have,” Kharra said, adding, “We will have to work hard.”
On whether there will be changes in the government post results, he said it doesn’t look likely.
Asked about the accountability for defeat, he said all BJP workers take responsibility for the defeat. “It is a collective responsibility, not an individual responsibility,” he said.
On indication by cabinet minister Kirodi Lal Meena to quit due to defeat of the party candidates on seats under his responsibility, Kharra said they will try to ensure that Meena continues in the cabinet.
