TAKING A cue from the cricket fever gripping the nation, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday said the Congress government in Rajasthan was like a team whose batters spent the last five years trying to run each other out. Addressing an election rally in Churu, Modi said, “These days the country is full of cricket enthusiasm. But there is such a quarrel within Congress that let alone making runs, they are busy trying to run each other out. The five years of Congress government were spent trying to run each other out. The remaining kept getting hit-wicket by giving wrong statements against women and in other issues.” He said there are others yet who do match-fixing by taking bribes and then do no work. “When their team itself is so poor, what runs will they make or do your work?” Urging the people to vote against the Ashok Gehlot-led Congress government, the PM asked them to “hit 5-7 centuries on every polling booth”. If “you choose BJP, we will ‘out’ the entire team of the corrupt in Rajasthan,” the Prime Minister said, adding that “the BJP will score development quickly”. With Diwali being celebrated recently, Modi said, “Our mothers and sisters work hard to keep our homes clean and, during Diwali, they clean every corner of the home, no matter how small. Why? Because Diwali is here. This election is also a Diwali where we have to remove the Congress from every corner. ” The Congress and development are each other’s enemies and will continue to remain so, he said. With the region sending a lot of jawans to the Army, the Prime Minister said that for decades, the Congress stalled and misled the jawans on the issue of One Rank One Pension. He said that Rajasthan is a land of the brave but under the Congress rule, it has become difficult “to even take God’s name here”. “On one hand there is the BJP which gets the Kartarpur sahib corridor built and brings copies of Guru Granth Sahib from Afghanistan. And on the other hand, there is Congress, which doesn’t allow shobha yatras to be taken out. The Congress not only prohibits the yatras of Gods and Goddesses but also promotes the rallies of terrorist organisation PFI,” he said. “It is very important to remove Congress to protect the Rajasthani culture.”
