In the last internal polls held in 2010, Arun Chturvedi was elected as the state party president. He is now a cabinet minister. However, before the Rajasthan assembly elections, Chaturvedi was replaced by Vasundhara Raje, who led the party to massive victory. She in turn vacated the post after becoming chief minister.

Her supporter Ashok Pernami was then given the responsibility.
