The incident took place at Indaram village of Jaipur mandal around 8.30 am when the woman’s father Peddapalli Kankaiah, 43, came out of the house with a knife and stabbed Mahesh was he was passing by her residence Tuesday morning. Soon, his wife Padma, 45, son Sai, 20, and the 22-year-old daughter joined him and bludgeoned him to death with a boulder even as neighbours looked on.
Some of the neighbours filmed the incident, videos of which are shared widely on social media. Jaipur police have registered a case of murder and started an investigation.
A senior police officer from Ramagundem Commissionerate told The Indian Express that the family was frustrated due to the harassment from the deceased and murdered him in a fit of rage.

According to the police, Mahesh and Shruthi were earlier in a relationship but the girl’s family opposed due to their different castes. The deceased belonged to the Boya community while the accused hailed from the Munnuru Kapu community. “She was married off to another person subsequently. However, they did not stop their relationship and Mahesh on two occasions sent intimate photographs of himself with Shruthi to her husband to rock their marriage,” said the officer.
The matter reached the village elders and despite their warnings, Mahesh continued with his ways. “The husband fell into depression and ended his life by suicide. After that, Shruthi moved back to her parent’s home. Even then, he continued to harass her. There are three cases of harassment registered against Mahesh at Jaipur police station and the investigation is at different stages. Meanwhile, he has been jumping walls at night to see Shruthi and this has enraged the family further,” the officer said.
