The India Meteorological Department (IMD) Monday issued a forecast for thunderstorms or light to moderate rain over parts of Telangana for three days starting Wednesday. The Hyderabad centre of the IMD in its bulletin also warned of heavy rain over isolated parts of northern Telangana districts Friday. This would be the season’s first pre-monsoon showers before the summer temperatures start to peak. It also warned of hailstorms in some districts Thursday. The IMD has issued a yellow alert for six to 12 districts over these days. According to the forecast, thunderstorms accompanied by lightning, and gusty winds are very likely at isolated places in Adilabad, Kumarambheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Nirmal, Nizamabad, Jagtial, Rajanna Sircilla, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Mahbubabad, Warangal and Hanamkonda districts Wednesday. While the weather is likely to remain more or less the same Friday, with the possibility of thunderstorms and lightning along with gusty winds, heavy rain is likely to occur in parts of Nirmal, Nizamabad, Jagtial, Rajanna Sircilla, Karimnagar, and Peddpally districts. There will be no drastic change in weather for the next two days as well, the IMD said. The IMD has predicted partly cloudy skies and haze in the morning hours for the state capital Hyderabad for the next five days. The possibility of thunderstorms and lightning is mentioned for Thursday and Friday. Maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be around 34 degree Celsius and 21 degree Celsius, respectively.
