Union Minister Nitin Gadkari on Sunday said that people of Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan have supported the policies of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and voted for the BJP in the Assembly elections, counting of votes for which is underway. Asserting that Chhattisgarh, MP and Rajasthan would see rapid development due to the installation of "double engine government", Gadkari hailed Modi, BJP chief JP Nadda and the local party leadership as well as workers for the results. The Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways was in Gandhinagar to take part in the 83rd Indian Road Congress. "The people of the country have expressed their mood through elections, especially in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. These three states have got very good results. In a way, the people have expressed their support for the policies of our government under the leadership of Modiji," Gadkari said. "For this historic victory, I congratulate Prime Minister Modiji, our (party) president JP Naddaji, and especially party officials and workers, I thank them a lot. These three states will now have double engine governments and there will be rapid development. People will get to see its results," he said. Meanwhile, as the trends and results showed that the BJP is leading the tally in three states, celebrations broke out at the Gujarat BJP headquarters and the district offices. Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel attributed the BJP's victory to the "guarantees" given by the PM and his politics of development. "The BJP has won in Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan because of Narendrabhai's politics of development, his guarantees and people's trust in BJP. People have voted BJP to power so that everybody could move ahead with happiness, peace and prosperity," Patel told mediapersons after attending a celebration organised at the BJP office in Ahmedabad. He said every state will benefit from the double-engine government and politics of development by Modi. "Every state will strive for 'Ek Bharat, Sreshtha Bharat,'" Patel, who showered flowers on BJP workers from the party’s Ahmedabad office in Khanpur, said. “The election results have made it clear that people of the country do not believe in any kind of advertisements but only in the Modi's guarantee, Patel said in a statement. State BJP president C R Paatil said the party's performance in the three states is the testimony of people's faith in Modi's leadership. He exuded confidence that BJP would win all 26 seats in Gujarat in the Lok Sabha elections next year. Addressing BJP workers at a 'Sneh Milan' programme organised in Surat, Paatil said that people of the country are feeling a sense of security because of Modi's leadership. "Many schemes have been announced by the Centre to enable even the poorest of the poor to contribute to the development of the country. BJP workers should try to ensure that the needy get the benefit of the Central and state schemes," he said.
