Alleging that the defamation case against Congress leader Rahul Gandhi was to dent his image, Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on Monday said, “We have full faith in the judiciary that we will get justice.”

Addressing mediapersons at the Circuit House in Surat, Gehlot said, “Rahul Gandhi walked for over 3,500 kilometres during Bharat Jodo Yatra and was blessed by the people of the country. He walked spreading messages on inflation, unemployment, non-violence and communal harmony.”

“The Kolar case issue was to defame Rahul Gandhi and dent his image. What Rahul Gandhi is going through now, his grandmother had gone through and finally, she emerged with a massive victory,” he added.

Alleging that (Prime Minister Narendra) Modi’s promise in 2014 that black money stashed outside the country will be brought back was not fulfilled, Gehlot said, “Rahul Gandhi said at a public meeting in Kolar, Karnataka, that Mehul Choksi, Nirav Modi, and Lalit Modi escaped from our country with black money. You (Modi and BJP team) diverted it as OBC issue. They say that we have done injustice to OBCs across the country. “

Claiming that he was the only CM in Rajasthan to be elected from the OBC, Gehlot said, “Chhattisgarh CM Bhupesh Baghel is from OBC, I am the only OBC MLA in Rajasthan who has been made chief minister and this is my third term…”

Alleging that Modi had done a rehearsal in 2017, he said, “In a public meeting, he said that Congress party had called him ‘neech’… Nobody from our party had called him neech… One leader had said, ‘neech pravurti ki tarah kaam kartein hein’. He (Narendra Modi) intentionally picked the word neech from the sentence and used it… when they were losing the assembly elections in Gujarat…”
