The Delhi Universitys Advisory Committee on Admissions recommended on Thursday that the first cut-off list for undergraduate admissions be issued on June 15. There will be a total of five cut-off lists, and the four subsequent ones would be issued on June 21,June 27,July 2 and July 8. On April 19,DU had announced that it would do away with pre-admission forms for undergraduate admissions. Candidates will have to approach colleges of their choice directly, once they make the cut-off declared by the college. Students will now get four days, instead of last years three,to approach colleges and claim admission after each cut-off list is published. The university has found space for this by pushing ahead the declaration of the first cut-off list by a week. It was declared on June 22. DU is yet to decide on whether to continue with centralised sports admissions, which started last year,or let colleges admit students in the sports quota. Both sports and extra-curricular activities admissions will open only after the announcement of the second cut-off list. Colleges will have to notify vacant OBC seats by July 15,and the last date of admissions to OBC seats would be July 23. The number of undergraduate seats for 2011 is 54,000.
