Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Monday laid the foundation for Lykli, a shopping destination to be developed by 2028 in Noida by Ingka Centres, which is part of the Ingka Group that operates Ikea Retail and Ingka Investments brands.
Ingka Centres is set to invest Rs 5,500 crore in developing Lykli, generating more than 9,000 jobs, state Minister for Industrial Development Nand Gopal Gupta said on Monday.
Lykli will be the first such meeting place to come up in Uttar Pradesh that houses both an office space and a hotel.
Adityanath said that Uttar Pradesh today has ventured into a “new century of development”. “With a focus on skill development of youths and embracing traditional industries, the government is focused on its vision of ‘One District One Product’,” he said, adding that this scheme has “become one of the most popular schemes in India today”.
The CM also said that the ease of doing business in Uttar Pradesh has helped the state see a decline in its unemployment rate. “Investment should be equated with employment and I think this (unveiling of Lykli) will set a true example of that,” Adityanath said.
