Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) approved its plan to develop two expressways and orbital rail lines between Jewar to Chola in Bulandshahr district to connect the area with Noida International Airport.
YEIDA CEO Dr Arun Vir Singh said relevant changes have been made in draft master plan-2041, which was considered by the board on Monday in its 77th board meeting, to reflect the expressways and rail lines. “The revised master plan will be further considered in next board meeting on July 11,” said Singh. According to the plan, one of the expressways will be 16 kilometres long and the other will be 19 kilometres.
The board also approved a one-time settlement policy (OTS) for the allottees of Economically Weaker Section, Low Income Group and Medium Income Group residential plots and 7% compensatory plots. The authority said that there are such 9,812 default allottees and payment of Rs 4,439 crore is pending.
“This is the fourth OTS scheme, which will open for a month from August 1. Under the scheme, the penal interest will be waived off, which is around Rs 890 crore. The allottees will have to pay the dues, which will be the default amount minus penal interest and the principle premium of the future instalments,” said the CEO, after the meeting.
The authority also said that in the different sectors of the Yamuna authority, the development works could not be completed because farmers had challenged acquisition in court. “Now the High Court has disposed of the farmer’s petition and they will be provided the additional compensation of 64.7 per cent, so the extention has been granted to the allottees and developmental works will be completed.” said the authority.
It further said that a special camp will be organised in the villages to distribute the compensation. “Around Rs 600 crore of additional compensation will be distributed to the farmers of 9 villages – Usmanpur, Dhanauri, Kadarpur, Rustampur, Dungarpur Reelakha, Rampur Banger, Pachokara and Achchheja Bujurg. More than 80 per cent of writ petitions filed by farmers of these villages have been withdrawn,” said the CEO.
