Woman jumps off Metro station, dies

According to police, the incident took place around 6.30 pm on Wednesday.

A 53-year-old woman, who allegedly tried to commit suicide by jumping onto the road from Guru Dronacharya Metro station in Gurgaon on Wednesday, died of her injuries on Thursday, police said.

According to police, the incident took place around 6.30 pm on Wednesday. The victim, identified as Savitri, succumbed to injuries during treatment at a private hospital in DLF City Phase-III at 3 am on Thursday.

Her body was later sent for a post-mortem examination and was handed over to family members. “No suicide note was found at the spot but investigation revealed that she was depressed and was being treated for it,” Dharamveer Singh, investigating officer, said.

He said the deceased was a native of Kota, Rajasthan, and lived with her husband, son and daughter-in-law in DLF City Phase-III. During investigation, her husband told police that his wife was on her way to Delhi at the time of the incident.
