Two petrol pumps fined

Six teams were constituted for conducting simultaneous surprise inspections of petrol pumps under the Essential Commodities Act, 1955.

The Department of Food and Civil Supplies, on Thursday, conducted surprise checks at six petrol pumps in the capital and issued challans to two of them after it found discrepancies.

Each team comprised four members and was headed by an assistant commissioner (Food & Supply).

The team inspected petrol pumps located in Majnu ka Tilla, Ghevra, Vikaspuri, Jasola, Dhansa boarder and Mayur Vihar.

The team found that two of these petrol pumps had discrepancies in measurement. They also did not display the verification certificate or they did not have it.

The team then challaned the two petrol pumps.
