Noting that strengthening the capital’s Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) was a key focus area with the three new criminal laws coming into effect, L-G V K Saxena has sanctioned the appointment of 165 Junior Scientific Assistants (JSA) on contract basis to meet immediate needs. L-G House officials said Saxena, who recently reviewed the preparedness and rollout of the three newly enacted criminal laws by the Delhi Police and the Delhi home department, had stressed on the strengthening of FSL, Delhi. “To this effect, Saxena Friday sanctioned recruitment of 165 JSAs on a contract basis to meet immediate needs, pending finalisation of Recruitment Rules. These JSAs would be deployed at crime scenes,” officials said. “Directing the FSL to finalise Recruitment Rules for various vacant posts at the earliest, the L-G directed the FSL to maintain total transparency in the recruitment process, so there is no scope for any complaint even in the future.,” officials added.
