A 27-year-old Tibetan national was stabbed to death following an argument with his friend over a stolen mobile phone in Southeast Delhi on Saturday night.
The police said the incident was reported at 11.30 pm from a party hosted at the rented accommodation of one Rinchin Dawa in Ramesh Market area of Amar Colony. The police identified the deceased as Thapten Dhargyal. The police said he was at the party with six friends.
During the party,Dhargyal realised that his mobile phone was missing. He also found that one of the guests,Tashi Pshok (23),was missing from the room. He confronted Tashi downstairs and found the phone with him. They had a huge argument after this, a senior police officer said.
After five minutes,an enraged Tashi returned to the house and threatened to kill everyone. He then stabbed Dhargyal in his stomach and tried to flee.
The police rushed Dhargyal to a nearby hospital,where he was declared dead on arrival. His body was transferred to the AIIMS mortuary for a postmortem examination. Tashi was later traced and arrested,a police officer said. He has been booked for murder at the Amar Colony police station. The police said Dhargyal had been staying in Delhi since November last year and used to work at a call centre in Gurgaon. His family has been informed about his death.
