Four months after a man was shot dead at HBR Chowk in Gurgaon’s Sector 65 by two unidentified men, the Haryana Special Task Force (STF) arrested three men on Tuesday in connection with the incident.

On June 28, two unidentified men on a motorcycle had shot Kaderpur resident Anuj – a bouncer who worked at a club – six times, leading to his death. They were wearing T-shirts of an online grocery store and a food delivery app and were carrying a bag that had the app’s name.

The accused, Dalbir alias Dinesh (20), Vikram alias Vicky alias Chaku (30), and Narendra Bhati (27) were arrested from the forest area of Harchandpur at Milak Sohna.

According to DSP Preetpal Sangwan, during questioning, Vikram admitted to the crime.

“Two months before the murder, Vikram and Anuj had an altercation… Seeking revenge, Vikram and his accomplices monitored Anuj’s gym routine and murdered him on June 28,” Sangwan said.
He added, “The three accused were presented before the court, which granted three-day police custody. During the remand period, two countrymade pistols, four live rounds, and one countrymade firearm were recovered. The accused had tested these weapons in the Harchandpur forest before the murder, and five empty shells were found at the scene.”

The T-shirt of the online grocery store and the bag of the food delivery app used in the crime were recovered from Vikram’s room, said Sangwan.

Vikram, a resident of Nimoth in Sohna, had been previously booked for murder and spent 21 months in jail. In all, he has eight cases registered against him for theft, Arms Act violations, and other offenses, police added.

On October 7, the case was transferred to the Haryana STF, with the probe being assigned to Gurgaon STF.
