A ride on Delhi Metro on Tuesday turned sour for Dalip Singh Rana,the WWE wrestler popularly known as The Great Khali. On Tuesday afternoon,Khali arrived at the Patel Chowk Metro station to visit the Metro Museum and take a ride in Delhi Metro. Khali,who was gifted a small-size replica of the Metro train,thoroughly enjoyed the experience,according to Delhi Metro officials. But there was a rude shock awaiting the big man,as two of his vehicles were challaned. The wrestler had arrived in a three-vehicle convoy and two of the SUVs were parked outside Patel Chowk station. With the SUVs stationed in no-parking zones,and traffic in the area affected on the busy stretch,the traffic police booked two of the vehicles (HR 62A 1144 and PB 29G 0416) for improper parking. A fine of Rs 100 each was slapped on both vehicles. There are thousands of challans made every day in the city and Khali is just one of them, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) S N Srivastava said. He may be a guest of Delhi Metro but that does not mean he can park illegally. Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) spokesperson Anuj Dayal,however,refuted that Khali was a guest of Delhi Metro. He came on his own and travelled like a normal passenger. We are in no way related to the matter, Dayal said. Khali is in India on a personal visit,reportedly to attend the wedding of his younger brother in Dhiryana,his native village in Himachal Pradeshs Sirmaur district . During his two-week stay,Khali is expected to spend most of his time in the village,though he has also appeared at various social platforms. Khali served in the Punjab Police before embarking on a professional wrestling career. He became the world heavyweight champion in WWE in 2007. Khali has also acted in films,including the Adam Sandler-starrer The Longest Yard.
