This is the third such incident of armed robbery in three days in the district. On Monday,a 60-year old man was stabbed during a robbery attempt in Noida, while on Tuesday,a group of women were held at gunpoint and their homes ransacked.

Police said the incident took place between 12.30 pm and 3.30 pm on Wednesday. “Neha’s husband,Pankaj Tyagi, works as an engineer for a firm in Greater Noida and had left for work around 6.30 am. Pankaj’s brother,Gaurav, who also lives with the family, left the house around 11 am,” the officer said.

When Pankaj Tyagi returned home around 3.30 pm,he found his wife in a pool of blood on the floor. “His son was in the other room. Neha’s throat had been slit and she had been stabbed several times. Neha was last seen by a maid who left the house around 12.30 pm,” Preetinder Singh,Senior Superintendent of Police, said.

Senior officers said preliminary investigation do not show a forced entry. “Though the house appears to be ransacked,we do not know if anything is missing. A team of Crime Branch officers has been formed to probe the matter. We have collected forensic evidence from the crime scene. The front door of the third-floor home was found ajar when her husband returned. We have not ruled out foul play either. A case has been registered under Section 302 of the IPC,” a senior officer said.
