Sultanpuri underpass to be inaugurated on Monday

According to Oberoi, instructions have been given to complete the flyover work as soon as possible.

Work on the Sultanpuri underpass, which was stuck for 13 years, is now complete, MCD mayor Shelly Oberoi’s office announced Saturday. It will be inaugurated on Monday.

The mayor said that as soon as the AAP government was formed in the MCD, the focus was on the Sultanpuri flyover and underpass. “The underpass has now been completed. It will be opened for the area’s residents from September 4,” Oberoi said.

Work on the underpass and flyover had started in 2010. “The previous government could not get the underpass… constructed in 13 years. As a result, the public had trouble in commuting and there were long traffic jams. But as soon as the AAP government was formed in MCD, the underpass work was completed within five months,” AAP said in a statement.

According to Oberoi, instructions have been given to complete the flyover work as soon as possible. “This would help lakhs of people living in the vicinity of Sultanpuri,” she said in a statement.
