According to police, a team from the Southern Range Special Cell caught the accused, Abhinav Verma, alias Boxer, near the DDA Sports Park in Rohini on March 27.

An alleged sharpshooter associated with top gangs in Delhi-NCR was arrested in connection with two cases of firing at businessmen last year.
According to police, a team from the Southern Range Special Cell caught the accused, Abhinav Verma, alias Boxer, near the DDA Sports Park in Rohini on March 27. Police said he is reportedly associated with Rohit Godara, Hashim Baba, and Kala Jatheri (Lawrence Bishnoi) gangs.
Police said following an incident of firing at Kirti Nagar on December 18 last year, multiple teams of Delhi Police, including the Special Cell, intensified their efforts to apprehend the perpetrators. Using manual and technical surveillance, police gathered information on henchmen of jailed criminals. Finally, on March 27, a tip-off led to Verma’s arrest.
Police also recovered three pistols, a revolver, 12 live cartridges, and two scooters from Verma’s possession.
He has been jailed twice for his involvement in criminal activities. During his first stint in jail, Verma came in contact with Ashis, also known as Kalu, who was a dismissed constable with a criminal record and a close associate of Hashim Baba. Verma was subsequently initiated into their gang. After being released on bail, police said Verma became embroiled in gang activity and crime. He gradually rose through the ranks and became the gang’s main sharpshooter.
