Shadow of dowry murder over mother’s ‘suicide’

The victim was taken to a nearby hospital where she was declared brought dead. Her family members alleged that they were informed about the incident later on Tuesday evening. “When we reached the house my sister was lying on the bed and my nephew told me that his father did not take her to the hospital when she was alive,” a relative told the police in his statement.

The body was handed over to the family Wednesday afternoon after an autopsy. “No suicide note was recovered from her possession. But we are still questioning her family members and probing the matter from all possible angles,” the officer added.
