A Delhi court will hear arguments on charges against BJP MP and outgoing Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh in the case of alleged sexual harassment of women wrestlers, starting August 9. Noting that the documents of the chargesheet supplied to Bhushan’s counsel, Rajiv Mohan, were complete, the court decided to hear arguments on charges in the next hearing. Last Friday, the court of Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Harjeet Singh Jaspal had, on the request of Mohan, granted more time for scrutiny of documents considering the “voluminous nature” of the record. The court had also granted the accused exemption from appearing in court. Mohan told the court that there were certain documents and pictures supplied to him for which he needed a better copy. He added that he would take the copies from SI Pooja, the investigating officer.
