Bal Bharati Public School,GRH Marg,celebrated its Annual Day on April 7. The presence of eminent guests added to the grandeur of the occasion. B V Selvaraj,Principal Secretary to Delhi government,General Administration,graced the occasion as the chief guest. Speaking on the occasion,he emphasised that life is not made of a few exams but was full of difficult kinds of trials and tribulations. “Therefore,holistic education that the school endeavours to provide is the need of the hour,” he said.

Guru Gitanjali Lal graced the occasion as the guest of honour. Principal L V Sehgal in his address highlighted the school’s constant endeavor to better its quality of education and environs in order to ensure that the school provides “a safe,happy and invigorating environment,conducive to the all-round development of all its learners”.

An impressive Audio Visual Presentation brought to fore the highlights of the activities and achievements of the school during the academic session 2011-12. Almost 165 students received prizes in various categories in both scholastic and co-scholastic areas. Vidyalaya Ratna Award for All-Round Performance was was awarded to Shresth Singhal (PP F),Shivanshi Lal (III F) and Pragya Chawla (XII D) while the proud recipients of Satat Medhavi Award for being the Best Achiever went to Vanshita Singh (IV D), Tushita Srivastava (V B),Mehar Bahl (V F),Chahat Jain (VI A), Sanaya Mahajan (VII B),Arushi Dawar (VIII G),Rishabh Sobti (IX G),and Akshay Kumar Gupta (X H).

Apeejay School,Saket celebrates Silver Jubilee

Apeejay School,Saket,commenced its Sliver Jubilee celebrations on April 4. Having completed 25 years of excellence in education,it was only apt to start the year by invoking the blessings of the Almighty. A special havan was organised in the school on the day. The occasion was graced by Sushma Berlia,president,Apeejay Education Society,Nishant Berlia,joint secretary,Apeejay Education Society,Nisha Berlia,member,Apeejay Education Society,V S Garg,education advisor,Apeejay Education Society, executive members of the parent body,Principal Anita Paul,and,staff and students of the school.

This was followed by the unveiling of the Silver Jubilee logo. Sharing her thoughts Sushma Berlia said this should be a year of introspection to actualise the deepest potential in students. She felt that the pursuit of excellence would be the greatest tribute to late Dr. Satya Paul,Founder-Chairman,Apeejay Education Society.

Investiture ceremony at Delhi Public School,Rohini

The Investiture Ceremony for the Senior School Cabinet for the academic year 2012-13 was conducted at Delhi Public School,Rohini,April 10.The auspicious event started with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp. The chief guest for the occasion was Dr P Karunakaran,IPS,Addl. DCP ( Outer Delhi) while Jasmeet ,ACP (Sultan Puri) was the guest of honour.

The ceremony began with the welcome address by Principal Rita Sen. In her speech,she urged the parents of the new cabinet members to nurture leadership qualities in their children. She also advised the cabinet members to be effective leaders of tomorrow and encouraged them to perform their duties to the best of their abilities.

Students of the school choir sang song ‘Sun Le Ye Zamana’,voicing the victory of courage over timidity. Antara Dey of Class XI recited the poem,’Africa’ by Rabindranath Tagore which talked about the trauma of being a slave nation and the heart rending cry of a true leader.

The chief guest Dr P Karunakaran presented badges to the newly appointed cabinet and also encouraged them to lead from the front. Vice- Principal Kiran Kumar administered the oath of sincerity and dedication.

Junior Olympic Meet 2012 held at APS Pitampura

For students between the age of 2 and 8,a grand sports meet — Junior Olympic Meet 2012— was organised by Abhinav Public School CU-Block Pitampura.

More than 20 pre-primary and primary schools participated in various events. The Meet was declared open by School Chairman Dr K KBansal. Master Shubham lighted the ‘Mashal’. About 17 track events were conducted. As many as 383 children participated in various events and cultural programmes. A demonstration Taekwondo impressed everyone present. Rajasthani and western dance performances added colour to the programme. School Head Shiva Kumar awarded the certificates and medals to the winners.
