The City FC team were in for a shock after the break. After conceding a goal to Tarun Sangha in the dying moments of the first half,drawing level must been the focal point of team talk during the breather. But in the second half,Sanghas Nigerian striker Charles rubbed it in with three goals after scoring the opener in the first game on Wednesday. In all he scored four,as his side scored five past a hapless City defence in the DSA Senior Division football match at the Ambedkar Stadium on Wednesday. But unlike what the scoreline suggested,the match was evenly poised till first-half injury time when,Charles after chasing down a long ball,dodged past two defenders,and shot past City FC goalie. The goal came after numerous attempts and missed opportunities. Sanghas left winger Daniel Moses missed the target from a close range after getting a through ball in the 13th minute. City too had their moments in front of the goal. Striker Afeez received an aerial ball from Asad Khan,dodged past defenders,but shot over the bar despite having an open goal at his mercy. City FC were overrun by the Tarun strikers in the second half as the 5-0 score suggests. Charles netted the second in the 58th minute by heading in a cross from winger J Mondal. He completed hat-trick in the 75th minute. Moses through ball found him in acres of space inside the D and he after selling the dummy to the goalie,helped the ball in the net. Charless fourth was a freak goal. On finding the keeper outside the net,he took a chance from the half-line and successfully curled the ball past the goalie. Mondal added the fifth with another wonder strike. With this win Tarun Sangha are setting pretty at No 2 in the table,while City FC are struggling with three points in 8 matches. kha winIn the second match of the day,Gorkha Heroes edge past Shastri FC by 2-1. Former Mohun Bagan midfielder and Gorkha skipper Rishi Kapoor scored a brace to earn three points for his side.
