Rohini triple murder: Money,property transactions could be motive,say police

Yogendra Pratap Singh Chauhan (52) was found murdered in his bedroom on the ground floor of their two-storey residence on Friday morning. His wife Rekha Chauhan (52) and daughter Karishma Chauhan alias Rosie, were found strangled in their bedroom on the first floor.

Chauhan’s son,police said,had died in a road accident in 2010. Police said the family had got Rs 35 lakh as compensation after a long court battle. Police suspect that this money may be the motive behind the triple murder.

“We have called his daughter-in-law for questioning to ascertain if there was any dispute between them over the compensation amount,” a senior police officer said.

Chauhan’s eldest daughter had also received a Rs 2.5 lakh compensation from her former husband recently as part of a divorce settlement.

Police said Chauhan had sold off his ancestral land in Etah,UP,recently. They have called his brother too for questioning question to see if there was any dispute between them over this issue.

“We are currently focusing on these three transactions and all the relatives concerned are being questioned at length,” the officer said.

Chauhan,who was into chemical supplying business,was hit on the back of his head,with a blunt object and he died of excessive bleeding,police said.
