A day after he attacked the Delhi government over a host of issues, Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, hit the ground on Tuesday to showcase issues related to the Capital's condition under AAP's rule. Heading a media tour of a locality in Northwest Delhi's Rithala, in a video which was later shared on his official WhatsApp channel, the Rae Bareli MP is heard saying, “Dekho, Dilli dekho; chamakti hui Dilli hai. Paris jaisi Dilli hai. (Look, look at Delhi; this is shining Delhi. Paris-like Delhi.),” as the camera pans along an open drain with garbage and rubble strewn along its boundary. “Sab jagah yahi haal hai (this is the condition everywhere),” he adds even as a local Congress worker tells him that he has sought time from the Delhi L-G to underline possible corruption having led to the collapse of the drain within months of being constructed. The AAP retaliated by stating that while the Congress is fighting to save its existence, party chief Arvind Kejriwal “is fighting to save the country”, even as it alleged a nexus between the Congress and the BJP. “It is for all to see how the BJP is coming in defence of Congress and how the Congress is only attacking the AAP. Rahul Gandhi is spending all his time abusing Arvind Kejriwal and AAP, just like the BJP. This is Congress’ arrogance on full display – the same arrogance that cost them Haryana, Maharashtra, and election after election in the last 10 years,” the AAP stated.
