At the first public meeting of Swaraj Abhiyan here on Sunday, ousted AAP leader Prashant Bhushan took a dig at Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal, saying his former party colleague had forgotten to follow the principles he wrote in his book Swaraj.

“I am following Arvind’s book and am willing to follow it even in future, though he (Kejriwal) has forgotten after writing it,” Bhushan said.

Lashing out at his former party, he said, “Although AAP was launched as an alternative political party, it is behaving like any other party with high command culture. In Delhi, people voted for AAP as an alternative to corrupt parties, but they are now feeling cheated.” He said, “Swaraj Abhiyan is an upgraded version of AAP and youths must follow it to walk ahead. We won’t make the same mistakes AAP made.”

In Kolkata, where he is on a visit for the Swaraj Abhiyan, Yogendra Yadav criticised the policies adopted by the Mamata-led government.
“In West Bengal, during the long rule of the Left Front, people felt suffocated and put hope on the TMC. But now there are times when they feel it (TMC) is even worse. The party took all the sins of the Left Front and added some of its own. BJP, which is the new entrant, has further deteriorated the state’s condition with its communal card,” Yadav said.
