If you have a pending traffic challan, then September 13 is the day to settle it for good, at one of the seven court complexes in the national capital during the Lok Adalat organised by the Delhi Traffic Police and Delhi State Legal Services Authority.

“National Lok Adalat for settling pending Compoundable Traffic Challans and notices to be held on 13th September, 2025 (Saturday) at all Court Complexes, Delhi from 10 am to 4 pm. Avail this opportunity to get cleared pending challans/notices,” the Delhi Traffic Police said in a statement on September 6.

People can download challans and notices from the Delhi Traffic police website. The section will be operative from Monday 10 am onwards, with a limit of 60,000 challan downloads per day. The maximum number of challans that can be downloaded over this window until September 13 is 1,80,000.

The most recent Lok Adalat organised by the Delhi Police and the Delhi State Legal Services Authority took place on May 10. Prior to that, another Lok Adalat was held on March 8, during which 1,53,437 challans, amounting to Rs 405.02 crore, were settled. According to data from the Delhi Traffic Police, settlements for traffic challans alone totalled Rs 1.7 crore.

The Lok Adalat allows for a quick public redressal system for pending challans at a discount, skipping the long and arduous court proceedings. The limit for private vehicles is seven: five notices and two challans. For commercial vehicles, the limit is two notices or challans per vehicle.
