Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to take part in the Dussehra celebrations in East Delhi on Thursday. The PM is likely to reach the Utsav Ground in IP Extension, Patparganj, for the Ravana Dahan ceremony around 6 pm, said officials. Elaborate security and traffic arrangements will be in place, considering the VIP movement at such sites. In advisories issued earlier, the Delhi Traffic Police urged commuters to use public transport, especially the Metro, due to restrictions at stations near Red Fort in the wake of festive arrangements. According to the advisory, people should avoid Netaji Subhash Marg, which is in front of the Red Fort. Traffic movement will be restricted on Netaji Subhash Marg (Delhi Gate to Chatta Rail Chowk) and Nishad Raj Marg during the event, the advisory said. While returning from Chatta Rail Chowk towards Delhi Gate, commuters have been advised to take a route via the Salimgarh bypass. Regarding parking in the areas near the Red Fort and Ramlila Ground, the advisory stated that various sections, including ASI Parking at Madhav Das Park (2A Parking), Tikona Park Parking Space (No 3 Parking), and Sunehri Masjid Parking (T-5 Parking), will be available for visitors. Separate exit routes for reserved parking vehicles have also been allocated. Nav Dharmik and Nav Shri Dharmik Committee vehicles will leave via Gyan Path, and vehicles of the Lav Kush Committee can exit on Netaji Subhash Marg. The advisory also stated that in case of traffic congestion, private vehicles will be diverted, and they will be rerouted from Chhatta Rail Chowk, T-Point Subhash Marg, and Delhi Gate.
