Notice to BJP candidate for derogatory remarks

Rewari Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Election Officer,C G Rajnikanthan said: “Action under Section 125 of the Representation of People Act,1951,has been initiated in this regard. We have issued a notice to Dr Yadav. She has been given time till Saturday 11 am to explain why action should not be taken against her.”

The DC maintained if the candidate was not able to give a satisfactory reply,appropriate action would be taken.

According to the report in The Tribune,Yadav on Thursday allegedly told the gathering in Rewari: “Agar Congress dubara aa gayi to Musalman ke siwaye kisi ki baat nahi karegi.”

Yadav defended herself saying it is a case of “misrepresentation” and that she did not target any community in particular.

“I was referring to the Prime Minister’s recent statement that the Muslims are the poorest in the country and a separate budgetary allocation was necessary for them. Then how can they say they secular?” asked Yadav.

According to official sources,records of public meetings of Dr Sudha Yadav were being reviewed.
