A Noida-based industrialist was allegedly kidnapped by unidentified persons from Sector 6 on Wednesday night while he was on his way home. The industrialist has been identified as Kapil Gupta, owner of Delta Electronics, police said on Thursday. Gupta was allegedly abducted when he was driving back to his Sector 15 home in his Mercedes car. Police said that when family members could not reach Gupta on his mobile phone, they got worried and called his office. On being told that he had left for home, they continued calling, after which they informed police. The officials said that they tried to gain a location from the GPS system in the car,but the device was found dismantled at the side of the road in Sector 54. His mobile phone was found at the spot as well. Asked if any ransom demand had been made, the official did not comment. In February 2011,Saurabh Jain,a chartered accountant with Guptas company, had been kidnapped in similar fashion. No arrest has been made in the case till date. The police are looking at the possibility that Guptas kidnappers may be the same people who abducted Jain.
