No support from varsity, says student ‘assaulted’ on campus; officials deny claim

The student further alleged her name has been “leaked” and people have been contacting her. “My name is out there…and nobody has helped me,” she said.

An FIR was lodged under sections of molestation, wrongful confinement, act endangering life, and Arms Act on Saturday.

In her FIR, she said she was studying in the library when she heard a noise from the toilet. On entering it, she saw two persons with a pistol. They allegedly threatened her after which she collapsed. When she got up, she found her limbs tied with a scarf.

A senior university spokesperson said, “We checked CCTV footage with the police. There was nobody around when she was studying… We did not receive a call or SOS message when she was tied up… The two friends she called for help are not our students. We are still looking into her complaint…”

Police said they have seized the DVR system and are verifying all allegations. No arrest has been made yet in the case.
