Responding to complaints from residents of towers declared unsafe at Chintels Paradiso that security guards were restricting their access, the builder has informed them that no outsiders including domestic workers or visitors will be allowed to enter the five towers.

A resident of tower G, Manoj Singh, who happens to be the petitioner in the case which is being heard by the Supreme Court, said in the first week of November, the delivery of necessary items to his flat was stopped.

Following a police complaint on November 4, the builder’s representative responded, attributing the episode to a misunderstanding and instructions to the staff not to stop any online/offline deliveries to the flat in future.

On Thursday, however, the maintenance agency concerned stopped Singh’s domestic worker from entering the tower and he wrote to the RWA to look into the matter. In response, Chintels India Pvt Ltd said Singh was still “illegally occupying” his house despite the order of the DC to vacate it after the tower was declared unsafe by an IIT Delhi audit report, adding that he had no right to endanger the lives of others.

“As we…are working, we rely heavily on our cook and maid…The builder and maintenance agency are resorting to illegal means to coerce me to agree to builder’s meagre buyback offer and not shying from even infringing on my right to life by stopping deliveries of basic life supporting items or stopping cook/maid to my flat,” the mail to the RWA, marking officers in the district administration and police said.

Singh said that workers at his house and his own family who visit them enter the tower of their own volition, and builder should not stop their entry. In response, the builder said that they have received instructions from the administration to the effect that the towers D, E, F, G & H have been found to be dangerous and unsafe.

“You are hereby informed that no outsiders will be allowed to enter any of the above mentioned towers, which includes servants and/or your visitors,” it said. “Regarding your assertion that our action is being taken in order to coerce you to accept our buyback offer, I would like to simply remind you that you have already taken the matter to the hon’ble Supreme Court, whose decision is awaited and whenever a decision is made by the hon’ble court it will be fully obeyed and honoured by us,” it further said.
