NIRF 2023: IIT Delhi jumps one place to 3rd, maintains 2nd position among engineering institutes

The institute bagged a position among the top three in the research category and maintained its position among the top five in the management category.

NIRF 2023: IIT Delhi jumps one place to 3rd, maintains 2nd position among engineering institutes

IIT Delhi was ranked third in the overall category in the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) 2023 released Monday. Last year, it was ranked fourth.

In the subject-wise category, under engineering, IIT Delhi was ranked the second-best institute in the country, for the fifth consecutive year.

The institute bagged a position among the top three in the research category and maintained its position among the top five in the management category.

Prof P V Rao, dean, Planning, and Head Rankings Cell, IIT Delhi, said: “IIT Delhi has been consistently doing exceedingly well in the NIRF rankings. It has retained its 2nd rank in the Engineering category consecutively for the last five years. This year, the institute has improved its ranking in the overall category from its earlier rank of four to three. In the research category also, the institute is in the top-3.”

“The research contributions made by IIT Delhi faculty and researchers have played a key role in the rankings of the institute. IIT Delhi has also been consistently doing very well in terms of innovative teaching methodology. The institute has built a research ecosystem so that faculty and students can excel in research. The start-up and innovative culture on campus put our students ahead of their peers,” added Rao

Rajkumar Ranjan Singh, Union Minister of State for Education and External Affairs, released NIRF 2023 Monday.
