The National Capital Region witnessed four murders in a span of 24 hours. Ghaziabad witnessed three murders whereas a body was found on the Expressway in Noida on Monday morning. According to the police,there have been no leads in any of the murders.
Pankaj Jain,32,took an autorickshaw to return to his Massorie home from near his shop in Govindpuram around 7 pm yesterday. According to the helper at the shop,Jain had Rs 90,000 cash in a bag which he was taking home.
He has a shop by the name of Rajinder Kumar,Udit Kumar Sons in Govindpuram market. He called up his wife after he sat in auto. He said he will be home in 20 minutes but when he did not return home till night,the family informed the police, a police officer said.
Jains body was later recovered from Kallugarhi railway tracks near Dasna on Monday morning. There were signs of rope around his neck and it seems he was looted and then his body was disposed off here, said the officer. A case has been registered against unknown assailants.
In another such incident,a 24 year-old transporter was found dead in the stream near Massorie.
Identified as Ankit Sharma,the transporter went out of his Kavi Nagar home late last evening to buy a birthday cake,the police said. He said he would return in an hour. After two hours when he did not return,the family called him. He could not be contacted. A missing report was lodged at Kavi Nagar police station last night. When a search was started,his body was found near the stream, said Rahul Yadvendu,SP city,Ghaziabad.
Sharma was stabbed seven times,the police said.
The third victim was contractor Jitendra Kumar,30.
According to the police,Kumar had a fight with a group of people,who were reportedly drunk last night during the famous Garh Ganga Mela. The police said,as there were hundreds of people in the mela the bullet shots went unheard.
Three people were injured in the brawl. We came to know about the incident today morning as Jitendras body arrived in Garh Mukteshwar. The injured Monu and Subhash are still admitted in a hospital in Meerut, K K Asthana,SP rural,said.
Meanwhile,on the Expressway near Sector-96,the police recovered a body of a labourer who lives in a slum near Sector-125.
Shambhu,30,was found dead on the Expressway with head injuries. The police suspect it is a case of accident and have registered a report in Sector-39 police station.
Investigations in all cases are on.
