‘From grassroots to campus politics to being Delhi CM’: PM Modi congratulates Rekha Gupta, hails her journey

Rekha Gupta, the only female BJP leader currently elevated to the office of Chief Minister, was joined by newly-appointed cabinet ministers Kapil Mishra, Parvesh Verma, Ashish Sood, and others, who were sworn in as part of the new Delhi government.

Soon after BJP MLA Rekha Gupta took oath as the fourth woman chief minister of Delhi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated her on her appointment and given her background and experience, he is confident that she will work for Delhi’s development with full vigour. My best wishes to her for a fruitful tenure.

In a post on X, PM Modi praised the newly elected Delhi CM, “Congratulations to Smt. Rekha Gupta Ji on taking oath as Delhi’s Chief Minister. She has risen from the grassroots, being active in campus politics, state organisation, municipal administration and now MLA as well as Chief Minister. I am confident she will work for Delhi’s development with full vigour. My best wishes to her for a fruitful tenure.”

Gupta was sworn in as the Delhi CM at Ramlila Maidan on Thursday. The ceremony was attended by senior BJP leaders, including PM Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and others. Gupta, the only female BJP leader currently elevated to the office of Chief Minister, was joined by newly-appointed cabinet ministers Kapil Mishra, Parvesh Verma, Ashish Sood, and others, who were also sworn in as part of the new Delhi government.

Responding to the PM’s wishes, Rekha Gupta thanked Modi for his blessings and support, saying, “Respected Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi ji, thank you very much for your heartfelt good wishes and heart-touching affectionate blessings. I want to assure you that with your able guidance and support, we will build such a developed Delhi that will become an example for the entire country. Paving the path of progress of Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas shown by you, we will make every possible effort to take Delhi to new heights of development. Thank you very much for this new responsibility.”
