L-G was prompted to take action against the executive engineer as the situation remained unsatisfactory during an inspection last SaturdayThe Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has suspended an executive engineer following “his failure to comply with” the directives from Lieutenant Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena, who is personally overseeing the development of Narela sub-city.
L-G Saxena who is also the chairman of DDA has envisioned transforming Narela into an educational hub on the lines of Dwarka by setting up colleges and improving allied civic amenities.
Disciplinary proceedings are also under consideration against DDA executive engineer Chhanveer, who is in charge of Narela, according to a statement.
It said the L-G was prompted to take action against Chhanveer as the situation remained unsatisfactory during an inspection last Saturday, despite repeated directives.
Saxena has issued specific instructions to the official regarding the cleaning and maintenance of roads, central verges, and pavements in the region during his visits in December last year, April this year and again in October, the statement said.
According to DDA officials, the suspension will serve as a stern message of accountability for officials.
