His younger sister has just gone through her Class XII exam. Ajay received a call around 10.30 am on Sunday from his father’s colleagues, who informed him about his brutal death.

Ajay, who first sat together with agitated DTC employees at Rohini bus depot, tried hard to control his emotions, but started crying talking of his mother’s condition. “My mother is disabled and is in a hospital. Now, my father no more,” he said, wiping his tears. “The motorcyclist stole my father’s wallet and mobile battery after committing the crime,” he claimed.

“Last night, my father told me that he would come directly to hospital around 4 pm and then we would take my mother home. We tried to change our destiny but this incident has once again changed our life. I have to be strong because I have a younger sister and a handicapped mother to look after,” Ajay said.

Singh’s father also worked for the DTC and, after his death, Ashok got a job. “I am hoping that the Delhi government will give me a job,” Ajay said.
