The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) organised training camps on Saturday and Sunday at 200 locations in the national capital to provide training to citizens to geotag their homes. In these training camps, citizens were informed about the need and benefits of geo-tagging of their properties.
“Citizens were trained about the process from downloading the mobile app to geotagging the property with photos. Also, citizens were encouraged to geo-tag their properties,” the MCD said in a statement.
Citizens were informed that all those property owners, who are not registered on the property tax portal of MCD, will have to register their properties, generate UPIC and thereafter geotag their properties.
If property owners fail to register their properties by January 31, 2024, the Municipal Corporation of Delhi will take legal measures to recover tax and also file cases against defaulters.
Citizens were informed that MCD has launched a mobile app, called the MCD App, for geotagging of all residential and non-residential properties. Property owners will have to download this mobile app from the Google Play Store or by visiting the MCD website.
They were also informed that geo-tagging of properties by taxpayers will provide location-wise identification of individual properties and enable better provision of service to citizens by the MCD.
Here’s how you can geotag your home:
Step 1: Open the MCD App and select the citizen option
Step 2: Log in to proceed further
Step 3: Select the UPIC for the geo-tagging option using a registered mobile number
Step 4: Select the Property UPIC and go to the Action button and click ‘Geo-tagging’. A map location will then pop up
Step 5: Click on the capture ‘Geo Coordinates’ button to add photographs of your property
Step 6: Click on ‘Add Photos For Property’ then add a caption for the photos. After that, go to Submit Geotags & Photo and click on the ‘Yes’ button to submit the details.
Property owners who do not have the UPIC number of their properties have to first generate UPIC and then follow the mentioned steps to geo-tag the same.
