MCD to approve house maps instead of the layout plan of area

The Municipal Corporation of Delhi has decided to approve the maps of urbanised and rural village houses after the proposal gets a nod from the Lieutenant Governor’s office.

The Municipal Corporation of Delhi has decided to approve the maps of urbanised and rural village houses after the proposal gets a nod from the Lieutenant Governor’s office. According to chief town planner,MCD,the decision was taken after a notification was sent to the agency for making the layout plan of an area mandatory.

“We faced dilemma when a notification, making layouts of area mandatory before approving maps of houses, was sent. Since villages falling under lal dora category did not have any layout plan,I floated the idea that we approve maps of the villages to overcome the necessity of layout plan. We will soon issue the circular after LG’s approval,” said Shamsher Singh, chief town planner,MCD.

The MCD have also been asked to come up with simplified guidelines for sanctioning building plans in urban and rural villages and lal dora areas in Delhi. While the DDA had come up with a notification to sanction building plans in village abadi and lal dora areas a few months ago,the process has not started yet due to several complications.
