‘Masters best preparation for Indian Open’

Anirban Lahiri,who finished second to Bhullar in the Masters with a final round of 66,also confessed to making mental notes on the course and his approach for the Indian Open through the tournamment. “This week was an ideal opportunity to work out a strategy,or at least file away a few things for the Indian Open,” said Lahiri. “I had a good round on Sunday and that gave me a lot of positives for the Indian Open,” he added.

The 21-year-old Bhullar,however,said he was sure the course would undergo more work before the Indian Open begins. “The rains had the course soft. But with the sun coming over the next couple of weeks the course will be in perfect shape for the Indian Open. I am looking forward to it,” he said.

Meanwhile Lahiri,said he was confident of going beyond his best-ever second-place finish he has managed so far. “It (a title) will come. I have been closing to it,I am sure it is not too far off,” he said. Senior pro Jyoti Randhawa heaped praise on Bhullar and Lahiri. “Bhullar is the star in making. He is on a hot streak and is playing great golf. At his age (21 years) we were just not as mature. He has a great future,” Randhawa said.
