Man shot dead, friend injured after assailants open fire in Delhi’s Karawal Nagar
A police officer said a man made Vishal Mavi, 28, a friend of the deceased, was injured in the resulting crossfire. The duo allegedly argued with the accused some days ago, the officer said.

No arrest has been made so far, the police said. (File Photo)A man was killed while another was injured after unidentified assailants — who came in a black Scorpio — opened fire at them in Delhi’s Karawal Nagar area on Friday evening, the Delhi Police said.
According to the police, the deceased, Rohit Yadav, was smoking a hookah with his friends when two-three people reached the area in the SUV around 7 pm. The accused, in what looked like a targeted attempt, fired at Rohit, leading to chaos in the area, a police officer said.
“On reaching the spot near Nanak Dairy, Kamal Vihar, Karawal Nagar, the police team found a person lying on the ground. The deceased was identified as Rohit Yadav (aged about 30 years), a resident of Bhopura in Ghaziabad,” Deputy Commissioner of Police (Northeast) Ashish Mishra said.

“It was found that a man, Vishal, a resident of Laxmi Garden, Loni, was also injured during the firing incident. Vishal is currently undergoing treatment at GTB Hospital,” DCP Mishra said.
Two cases have now been registered at the Karawal Nagar police station, the police said. One is under Section 101 (murder) while the other is under Section 109 (attempt to murder) of the BNS. No arrest has been made so far, the police said.
“Forensic teams are examining the area. Legal action has been initiated, and police teams have been deployed to identify and apprehend the accused at the earliest. Investigation in the case is ongoing,” DCP Mishra said.
