Kondli residents clash with AAP MLA, he blames BSP for incident

According to a police officer, the incident took place when a group of women went to Manoj Kumar’s office over an issue of water stagnating in their area.

“There was a heated argument between the AAP members and the residents and they came to blows. The entire incident has been captured on camera by a local reporter,” the officer said.

Kumar alleged that the BSP councillor from the area was behind the incident, which took place around 12.15 pm on Saturday.

“Construction work on a drain in the area had stopped two days ago, leading to water accumulating in the area. I was returning to my office after meeting MCD officials over the issue when a group of people surrounded my car. Aides of the local BSP councillor were among those who started assaulting us. They ransacked my office, stole our projector and amplifier, and smashed the TV,” he said.

The MLA claimed that the entire incident was caught on camera. “We have handed over the video clip to police,” he said.

The BSP Delhi unit chief Brahm Singh denied the allegation levelled by AAP MLA and said his party had nothing to do with the incident.

“We have gone through the footage which is being aired on news channels. We could not spot anyone from the BSP in it. We have no idea how or why these allegations are being made,” he said.
