Worried that even the Jet Airways’ staff who are not on strike might lose their source of livelihood, the ground staff of the airline on Thursday made an emotional appeal to the 600 protesting pilots to return to work. They have also appealed to the pilots to put forward their grievances in the right manner.

Terming the strike unethical, the employees said the striking pilots were the highest paid. “The strike is affecting not just the airline but also us. The future of our families depends on the company we work with, which is losing revenue as well as the faith of passengers. We might lose our jobs if this continues,” said Surender Sharma,a representative of the Jet Airways’ ground staff,at the Indira Gandhi International Airport.
