Four women trainee cabin crew members of Air India were allegedly targeted in a break-in at a Sector 42 guest house in Gurgaon early Wednesday, with two unidentified intruders scaling a first-floor balcony to demand and seize valuables worth several lakhs of rupees, the police said.

The incident unfolded around 2.15-2.30 am on Sunset Boulevard. The guest house had 15 crew members staying there. According to the FIR, the suspects entered from an empty adjoining plot, confronted the victims, and threatened them with warnings such as “If you shout, we will shoot. Our men are outside”.

The women handed over their belongings without resistance, and the intruders fled without entering the rooms fully, as per the FIR. Stolen items included cash, jewellery, luxury watches and mobile phones. No weapons were visible during the incident, police said.

The guest house management filed a complaint Friday evening, leading to an FIR at the Sushant Lok police station under sections for theft and criminal intimidation of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.

A Gurgaon police spokesperson said CCTV footage in and around the premises is being examined, and the culprits will be nabbed soon.

Air India, in a statement on the matter, said, “We are deeply concerned by this unfortunate incident of intrusion and theft at a Gurugram hotel where some of our crew colleagues were staying during a training programme. Crew safety is a top priority at Air India and as an immediate precaution, the affected colleagues have been relocated to another hotel, whilst our teams remain available to them to provide any required support. Air India is cooperating closely with local law enforcement authorities and will ensure the matter is pursued with due legal recourse.”

In September, a robbery was reported at boxing champion Mary Kom’s house in Faridabad, in which the police soon nabbed three minors.
