A 27-year-old employee of a private firm in Paschim Vihar,West Delhi,was arrested on Friday for trying to mislead police by making a fake robbery call. Police recovered Rs 6 lakh from him.

A 27-year-old employee of a private firm in Paschim Vihar,West Delhi,was arrested on Friday for trying to mislead police by making a fake robbery call. Police recovered Rs 6 lakh from him.

Amit Kumar,a resident of Jwalapuri camp,called police at 4.35 pm on Friday,claiming that three men had robbed Rs 6 lakh — his firm’s money — from him at gunpoint. Kumar’s mobile records showed that he was making calls while “being robbed” at 3.30 pm on Friday. When questioned,he admitted he had stolen the money to fund his mother’s surgery.
