Haryana Chief Secretary Sanjeev Kaushal reviewed preparations for the upcoming fourth Sherpa meeting, a crucial component of the G20 Summit, scheduled to be held in Nuh and Gurgaon from September 3 to 7. The meeting, which will take place at ITC Grand Bharat in Tauru, Nuh, will see the participation of G20 member nations as well as Sherpas and delegates representing invitee nations. A government communication stated that Kaushal himself is overseeing the preparations under the guidance of Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar. The meeting in Gurgaon primarily focuses on arrangements concerning road improvements, cleanliness, lighting, security, and traffic management. Dr Aditya Dahiya, special secretary in the office of the chief secretary, highlighted the appointment of 23 liaison officers, including four IAS-level officers, who will play a vital role in assisting and facilitating participants during the event. Officials from the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) and the Haryana Public Works Department reported that road improvement works from the Delhi border to the event venue are in the final stages. Efforts are also underway to ensure cleanliness and beautification along the route, with streetlight installations nearing completion. The chief secretary directed officials to conduct night-time inspections of streetlights and requested video recordings of road improvement works from the NHAI. The government has underscored the top priority of security during the Sherpa meeting, with Commissioner Vikas Arora assuring vigilance at the venue, guest accommodations, and travel routes. Additional Director General of Police (CID) Alok Mittal has recommended an advanced security liaison to assess security arrangements, ensuring seamless coordination between Nuh and Gurgaon district police. To ensure the well-being of attendees, round-the-clock health facilities will be available, including five ambulances stationed at the ITC Grand Bharat, stated the communication.
