Gurgaon: 3 injured as girder collapses at Rapid Metro construction site
Sunil, an autorickshaw driver who rushed to help the injured, said the driver banged his head against the windshield and started bleeding profusely.

Three people, including an autorickshaw driver, were injured when a girder collapsed at an under-construction site of the Rapid Metro in Gurgaon’s Sector 56 Tuesday.
Police said the girder fell while it was being lifted by a crane, crushing the rear end of the autorickshaw. While the driver sustained head injuries, the two passengers escaped with minor injuries.

Police said the driver was taken to a hospital.
A Rapid Metro spokesperson said, “Any incident of this nature is unfortunate and we are ensuring assistance to the parties involved. The incident occurred despite stringent safety measures. We have initiated an inquiry and have asked our contractor to submit a report.”
ACP Hawa Singh, spokesperson for Gurgaon Police, said, “The driver did not want to lodge a complaint.”
